This Week in Rotary
Posted By Bob Girvan
The Ashburton Fire Brigade has through various means, developed a museum of a very high standard which attracts both local and national visitors. Their aim is to continue to show and develop the proud history of the local brigade as well as delivering safety messages to all visitors.
They have hosted a number of groups over the past couple of years since the first extension to the museum was completed. These groups have been quite diverse covering schools, service clubs and groups of like-minded people along with individuals and families on specified open days.
The museum now wants to expand the foot traffic and give people coming to the site a great Mid Canterbury experience. They want to ensure their product remains of the highest quality and need further funding to assist with the planned expansion.
The Rotary Club of Ashburton Plains is proud to be assisting by donating $5,000 to the cause.
