Rotary Club of Ashburton Plains Welcomes Guest Speakers
Members of the Rotary Club of Ashburton Plains were delighted to welcome two of the Club’s recent Tertiary Scholarship recipients, Alyssa Gilbert and Charlotte Marriott, as guest speakers at last week’s meeting.

Alyssa and Charlotte, both of whom are currently studying at the University of Canterbury, spoke about their academic journeys and future aspirations. Their passion, determination, and gratitude for the support they have received from Rotary were evident, and members were proud to see how these talented young women are embracing the opportunities ahead of them.

The Club also enjoyed an informative presentation from member Carolyn O’Brien, who provided fascinating insights into the history and impact of vaccines. Carolyn outlined how vaccines have played a critical role in improving global health, saving millions of lives, and shaping the world we live in today.
