Prostate Cancer Presentation and New Member.
On Wednesday the 2nd Oct we had the pleasure of having Doug Collie representing the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand speak to us.

Prostate cancer is our most commonly diagnosed cancer (apart from skin cancers) in New Zealand. Every year more than 4000 men are diagnosed with the disease and over 700 die – the second highest cause of cancer death in men behind lung cancer. For all sexes it sits third behind lung and bowel cancers.

Doug’s presentation was focused on raising awareness about prostate cancer and its personal impact and the importance of early detection.

Doug covered symptoms and detection, diagnosis and treatment options. A very informative talk and we thank you Doug for sharing your knowledge with us.

On the 2nd Oct we also had the pleasure of inducting a new member to the Club, Dene Harrison. Dene has recently moved to Ashburton from Geraldine and is engaged in the motor industry. Welcome Dene.
