The Rotary Club of Ashburton Plains Classic Car Rally
On Sunday 7th of May Classic Car owners enjoyed a great day out at the Rotary Club’s annual Classic Car Rally. The event started at the Ashburton Show Grounds at 9am Sunday morning with judging and announcements before travelling to the Peel Forest Estate for a picnic lunch and prize giving. We were hosted by owner Graham Carr and all enjoyed the wonderful homestead and gardens.
Graham Carr was invited to nominate a charity or organisation to whom the Rotary Club could donate the proceeds of the rally. Club members agreed it was fitting that Graham chose the Peel Forest Preschool as his recipient.
Club director Allan Lill presented the donation to the Preschool for the amount of $2,500.

Letter from Peel Forest Preschool
Hi Allan and the Rotary Club of Ashburton Plains
It was lovely to meet you today, the children really enjoyed having their photo taken and receiving this amazing gift.
We are so grateful for your generous donation to Peel Forest Preschool. We rely on fundraising to keep this little preschool open and your contribution is greatly received.
We have big dreams for this little Preschool and it is going from strength to strength due to the incredible support from our amazing community.
Peel Forest Preschool is a hidden gem in the heart of Peel Forest Village with a roll of 18 children per day. It’s beautiful rural setting amongst oak trees and fields is any child’s dream environment to play, make friends and explore.
We are so grateful for the donation and will be putting it towards improving facilities and the children also wish to have some ukulele’s so they can play guitar with their teacher.
Kind regards,
Abbey Mackenzie
