Criteria for The 2023 Tertiary Scholarship
The Rotary Club of Ashburton Plains is offering $1,000 awards to second year students attending a New Zealand University, Polytechnic or approved Tertiary Institution in 2023.
Scholarship
The value of the Award will be $1,000. The Scholarship is for a full time student only.
Eligibility
The applicant must be in their 2nd year of study at a tertiary institution for the 2023 academic year. The applicant must have been a resident in the Mid-Canterbury area. The applicant shall be of 25 years of age and under as at the first day of January 2023.
Selection
A panel from members of The Rotary Club of Ashburton Plains will carry out the selection and their decision shall be final.
The selection criteria shall consider the following:
- Academic record
- Degree of participation in extra-curricular activities
- Evidence of character
- Evidence of interaction with peers
The Rotary Club of Ashburton Plains has no preference on the tertiary courses students are studying. Every application is treated solely on its merits.
Requirements
The successful recipient of the Tertiary Scholarship will be required to attend a meeting of The Rotary Club of Ashburton Plains and address the meeting.
